Our Work

CONNECTING • DISCIPLING • HELPING

Local Impact

The primary outreach tool of James Seay Ministries is to conduct tent revivals in locations where God’s love and truth are needed. For seven years, beginning in 2003, annual tent revivals were held in Monroe, Michigan (as the ministry was originally the Monroe Area Wide Tent Ministry, an outreach of the Trinity Faith Christian Fellowship Church in Monroe). An eighth tent revival was held in Huntsville, Alabama. After a move to Louisville, Kentucky in 2012, the tent revivals have been held in the Louisville area, often several times per year. Communities and local churches in downtown Louisville, South Louisville, Shively, Newburg, and Pewee Valley, KY, as well as Corydon, Indiana have been and continue to sponsor tent revivals each year.

JSM also organized outreach activities such as back-to-school supply distributions, providing Thanksgiving dinner kits for needy families, as well as Bible studies and workshops teaching cross-cultural and intercultural ministry approaches.

The ministry will continue to provide material support to other ministries and help fund international mission outreach efforts.

Global Impact

A few years ago, during the many Louisville tent revivals, Chaplain James received a further word from the Lord – that someday the tent would be donated to another ministry, specifically, a ministry in Africa. In the meantime, a pastor from Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire had come to Louisville to preach at an event on the Louisville waterfront that JSM ministries was involved with. Through this connection, Rev. Charles learned of the tent ministry and would come and speak at events. It was through this relationship, and in prayerful guidance from the Lord and the approval of our Board of Directors, that we were able to bless his ministry. The tent that had served us so well was shipped to his church in 2024.

We have since replaced the tent with a new, larger, one, that with the Lord’s will, will make its debut in 2025 serving the counties outlying Louisville.

Church Partnering

In the old days, when tent ministries were setup on the frontier, pastors who ministered to far-flung communities in the wilderness would come to the tent to teach the Word of God to the unchurched. Likewise, churches and pastors have come alongside our ministry to teach and minister during the time the tent is in the mission field. We partner with local churches in order to connect new disciples to their local faith community.

Community Partnering

The tent is also a focal-point to connect persons in need with the services the community can provide. Drug and alcohol abuse recovery programs, marriage and family counseling, housing, and food, are some examples of the programs we have teamed up with. The tent provides the space and a voice to help these services connect with those who need assistance.

Worship Ministry

During the events, worship teams from the local churches supplied the music. For the most part, JSM provided all of the sound reinforcement and staging, so that musicians needed only to bring their instruments. Musical teams from all ethnic backgrounds and musical genres that worship in the Spirit and in truth (John 4:23-24) have brought the Holy Spirit into the hearts of our attendees.
